These pictures are from our trip to Corpus Christi this past weekend (8/4/07). We went with nothing
planned except fun and relaxation.
When we first arrived in Corpus, it was pouring
down rain ... but that wasn't a problem because
the hotel had an indoor pool and play area.
The kids had a great time horsing around in the play area.
Emily even found out that ping pong can be a lot
of fun. (It's even more fun if you can figure out
how to hit the ball!)
Even J.T. had fun trying to play ping pong. He
had some trouble serving and thought that it
would be easier if mom helped out (it wasn't).
Check this out, the kids even got to play shuffle
board. (Or, as J.T. would say, "I wanna push
the big stick.)
The storm finally passed and the sun came out, so
we headed out to the beach for some fun. That's
our hotel behind us ... it was right on the beach,
which was great because we didn't have to get
in the car (and fill it up with sand).
We took turns burying each other in the sand.
(You would not believe how much sand was in
our bathtub after our baths that night!)
The next morning we headed down
to Peoples Street and wandered around
on the pier. The kids got a big kick out
of watching the pelicans and seagulls.
The kids got really excited when we got ready
to board Captain Clark's Flagship to take
a tour of the bay.
We were able to watch two tugboats guide
this tanker under the harbor bridge
during our tour of the bay.
Emily has been begging for a beach trip for
months ... this smile made it all worth while.
