I just took a look at our site and realized that I haven't updated it since Emily's birthday in October
... wow! I promise, we had a party for J.T., but I've already deleted them from the camera (after printing them at Wal-Mart).
I'll try to get everyone caught up with what we've been doing since the kids' birthdays.
P.S. You can always check us out on MySpace.com. My
site is set to private, but all you have to do is
send me a request to add you as a friend so that
you can see all of our current pictures and read my
blog.

In October (maybe November), Eddie came home with
a surprise ... a huge tarantula that he found while he
was inspecting a home. The kids were scared of it at
first, but then decided that we should adopt him as our
pet. He was dubbed "Eric" and we went to PetCo to buy
him a home.
We only had Eric for a few weeks. While I was reading
up on tarantulas to make sure we were feeding him
enough (he eats 2 crickets a week ... that's what the kids
are watching him do in the picture above), I found out
that a male tarantula does not make a good pet because
it will drive itself crazy trying to escape ... their
only goal in life is to mate (and then they die). I compared
the pictures to Eric ... yup, he's a "he". We had a long
talk with the kids about how much happier he'd be and
then we let him go.
The kids still talk about Eric every now and then. Even
though it was kind of a creepy experience (for me), I
think it was a good one for the kids.

Here are Elisabeth, Emily and Troy at our annual
"McNeal Christmas" at Mama and Mickey's house
(J.T. didn't want to take a picture. We always
get together the Sunday before Christmas so that we
can spend some time together before Christmas. The
kids had a great time together.
The next weekend found us driving to Georgetown
to see Aunt Sherry and Uncle Mike. We spent the
day at the mall on Saturday to let the kids spend
their Christmas money. Emily was done in a matter
of 2 (maybe 3) stores ... it took J.T. a little longer.

We spent New Year's Eve with Emily's BFF's
(Jillian) family. The beginning of this friendship
is really amazing. I went to high school with
Jillian's step-mom (her name is Lisa, too) in
Orange Grove. We now live about 7 miles from
each other in Helotes (what a small world, huh?)
We originally ran into each other at McDonald's about
3 years ago while we were both pregnant (me with
J.T. - she with Landon) ... we were both amazed at
the coincidence. We had our babies (she in September
and me in November) and quickly lost track of each other
in the chaos that comes along with having a baby.
Well, lo and behold ... Emily starts kindergarten and
becomes best friends with Jillian in the after-school program
(they aren't even in the same class and they still found each
other - amazing, right?!?). Any way, the girls have hit it off
really well, so we see a lot of the Millers now.

This year was J.T.'s first experience with sparklers.
He loved it! It was very dry this year, so while the
kids were running around with sparklers, the adults
were running along behind them putting out fires.
Here's J.T.'s first car. It's probably very
similar to the models that most of us had.
(Or at least those of us who were born before
every kid had a battery operated Barbie or Diego
jeep to play with.)

Here's J.T. and future BFF, Landon. We took the
kids to the park one weekend ... they had a blast.
This park had sand everywhere (instead of pebbles).
When we arrived, J.T. said, "Look! The beach!)

When it was time to leave the park, the girls
said they wanted to go down the slide "just one
more time". Well, before I knew what had happened,
J.T. was climbing up the slide, too. I couldn't believe
it ... look at how high it is! ... he's not afraid of anything.
